Break our hearts, Jesus, as your heart is broken by hatred.
Rescue us from indifference to the suffering of our brothers and sisters.
Enable us to see where we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
Answer our cries for relief from fear and suffering
Turn our darkness of oppression and racism to the light of freedom and friendship.
Heal the divisions in our communities.
Empower us to righteous action for justice and peace.
Breathe on us, Holy Spirit. Fill us with the fire of your love, the love that longs for righteousness, justice, and peace.
Break our hearts by those things that break the heart of Jesus. Amen.
